Welsh builders help create Neverland at Theme Park
A team of Welsh builders has helped create a magical new attraction at Oakwood Theme Park.
Llanelli-based Jones Brothers (Henllan) Limited were the main contractors for the £4m ‘Neverland’ development which officially opens at the Pembrokeshire park later this month.
Based on J M Barrie’s famous ‘Peter Pan’ story, Neverland features 10 new rides and attractions including a giant rock skull pirate log flume ride and a recreation of Edwardian London – complete with Big Ben and Nelson’s Column.
Spread over more than three acres, the family-themed attraction also features a junior coaster, a mini galleon, an aerial ride, a London taxi ride, an interactive walkthrough area and themed soft play zone.
Jones Brothers (Henllan) Limited, Gareth Jones, said: “Since 1971 we have been providing a wealth of expertise in the Civil Engineering, Building Construction and Groundworks sector with diverse clients in both public and private sectors through the UK.
“It has been an honour to be part of such an enthusiastic team in delivering such a unique and challenging project in Pembrokeshire.”
Oakwood Park Director, Dominic Jones, said: “Jones Brothers were the main contractors for the entire project and were in charge of everything from initially clearing the site and building foundations for all the rides to health and safety and landscaping.
“We’re absolutely delighted with their professionalism and the expertise and experience they were able to bring to a complex and highly ambitious development. They have helped us create a truly magical themed family attraction,” he added.
