Whilst Visitor Attractions in England prepare for a provisional opening date of 4th July, Welsh Government are yet to provide guidance to Welsh Attractions on when they may open, or even if they’ll be able to open for the crucial Summer holidays period. These are uncertain times for all attractions in Wales.
The challenges faced by all attractions during this period of uncertainty are immense, however we recognise the increased pressure placed on Zoos and Aquariums who have maintained the feeding of animals and high standards of animal care, whilst unable to generate revenue which would ordinarily be used to cover these activities.
Later this week the UK Government will debate in UK parliament about the crisis facing UK zoos, aquariums and organisations dedicated to animal welfare. In support of our friends at Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo and Manor House Wildlife Park, and our sister sites at Blue Planet Aquarium and Bristol Aquarium, please help us make some noise in support of all Zoos and Aquariums being allowed to reopen.
Please help zoos, aquariums and organisations dedicated to animal welfare reopen by supporting BIAZA’s efforts here; https://biaza.org.uk/news/detail/yourzoosneedyou-
