Oakwood Theme Park’s event Spooktacular has been nominated for ‘Best Theme Park Halloween Event” at this year’s iconic Scare Awards, which celebrate the very best in the scare industry.
The Scar Awards are part of ScareCON 2022, a scare convention which draws in hundreds of visitors every year, including attraction owners, designers and scare fans from across the UK and Europe. The convention includes the biggest display of exhibitors, alongside a comprehensive workshop and seminar programme, and the return of the iconic ScareBall with the annual SCAR awards ceremony. The award ceremony will be held for the first time in 3 years face to face at Thorpe Park between 9th-11th May 2022.
Phil Verbinnen, Park Director at Oakwood said: “We are extremely proud to be shortlisted for the 3rd time for a SCAR Award. After missing out on Spooktacular 2020 due to Welsh Government covid-19 firebreak restrictions, we were thrilled to be able to offer and recognised by industry experts for Spooktacular once again. Delivering guests fun, hair-raising thrills and scares.”
“We are up against some very good and well-established attractions for the award so the competition will be tough again this year, but we are excited to have Spooktacular alongside those names. The feedback we have received for Spooktacular has been very positive and we are immensely proud of what we have achieved with this event.”
