Back to His Roots: Meet Our Business Relationship Manager

31 August, 2018

A Whole Lot of History

Paul is not exactly new to the business; originally from Begelly, the father-of-one spent two summer seasons working here as a ride supervisor back in the early 90s.

Since then he’s worked as a director of national sales for a Dominican Republic tour operator and as a business manager for First Choice holidays across a number of countries, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Balearic Islands. These roles saw him responsible for teams of 12-100 members of staff, overseeing budgets and health and safety protocols, organising excursions, and generally increasing sales for the businesses.

An Opportunity of a Lifetime

Having lived abroad for over 10 years, Paul was ready to make the move back home – wasting no time in snapping up the highly sought-after role at Oakwood as soon as he saw the opportunity.

“Oakwood holds so many fond memories for me. I loved working at the park when I was younger and combined with my passion for sales, I couldn’t wait to return and help the park to grow. Coming back after so many years was completely surreal but it’s good to be home and fantastic to see that stalwarts of the Pembrokeshire tourism industry, like Oakwood, remain.”

A Great Asset to the Team

After an 11-year stint overseas, Paul is now set to take on the role of Business Relationship Manager to help nurture our relationship with local partners and promote the investments we’ve made in recent years.

Having worked in the tourism industry for over a decade and more than 30 years in sales and customer service, Paul has vast experience and a proven track record of delivering excellent results, couple that with his inside knowledge of the park and extensive list of contacts across Pembrokeshire – we believe that he is an invaluable asset to the park and all our lovely visitors across the country.

We cannot wait to see what the future holds, so follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep an eye out for future developments!
